LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College handball players Carly Stickles (Ridgeway, ON) and Lisa Jeziorny (Orland Park, IL) shared Forester Athlete of the Week honors on Thursday (March 2) for their performance at the United States Handball Association College National Championships the previous weekend (February 22-26).

The doubles partners recorded a come-from-behind 17-21, 21-3, 11-6 victory over the top seed in the Open Doubles championship match. They had earned Handball All-America honors by winning twice to reach the final.

Stickles, a sophomore, also earned All-America status by advancing to the semifinals in Open Singles. She was defeated in that round by the eventual champion, who was a member of the runner-up doubles team. Jeziorny, a junior, reached the quarterfinals in the A Singles bracket.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is chosen by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Stickles also received the award last year for her doubles team’s runner-up finish at the national championships.
