Inducted 1977   Growing
up in Chicago, Illinois, Harriette attended Amundsen High School where
she was actively involved in the Girls Athletic Association. She
also competed in many park district activities.
Entering Lake Forest in 1936, Harriette was an assistant to the physical education staff during her undergraduate years. She was also a member of Gamma Phi Beta which competed in many of the Women's Recreation Association tournaments. In 1962 she returned to the College as the women's athletic director and physical education instructor. Her involvement was instrumental in the development of women's intercollegiate athletics at the College. She coached the field hockey, women's basketball, and women's tennis teams to several undefeated seasons during her twelve-year coaching career. Harriette was a also member of the National Association of Women's Physical Educators and the Midwest Association of Women's Physical Educators. From 1974 to 1982 she served as assistant to the College's Vice President of Development. Following her retirement, Harriette continued to serve the College on the Alumni Board of Directors. She continues her involvement in athletics by swimming and golfing. On the course, she has won several golf trophies. She and her husband, Richard F. Jauch '39, were the first husband and wife to be inducted into the Lake Forest College Athletic Hall of Fame.
