Foresters Close out 2006 with Loss at St. Norbert
Lake Forest falls to nation’s third-ranked team

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Lake Forest College men’s hockey team fell 7-1 at St. Norbert College, the third-ranked team in the country, Tuesday (December 5) night. The Foresters are now 2-10-1 overall after the non-conference game. The Green Knights raised their record to 11-1-2.

St. Norbert scored the game’s first goal at the 15:50 mark of the opening period. The Foresters tied the score on senior Greg Ihnken’s (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Cornwall Colts) first score of the season less than two minutes later. He was assisted by sophomore Chris Wilson (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Cornwall Colts).

The Green Knights regained the lead at 8:21 in the second period, added a goal at 10:10, and converted a power play opportunity at 14:36.

The home team put the game out of reach with goals at 2:21, 6:13, and 16:52 in the third.

Lake Forest will be in action again on Saturday, January 6, at Marian College. The game will begin at 7:00 p.m.
