LAKE FOREST, IL - The Foresters played their third of six games against Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's hockey teams Friday (December 7th) night when they hosted Bethel College. The Royals scored three times in the second period, which turned out to be just enough to defeat Lake Forest 3-2. The loss drops the Foresters record to 5-5-1.

Lake Forest got on the scoreboard first with freshman forward Bryan O'Connor's (Calgary, Alberta) sixth goal of the 2001-02 season. The score came at the 12:46 mark of the first period and junior forwards Matt Bruni (Unionville, Ontario) and David Evans (Calgary, Alberta) were both credited with assists, their third and eighth, respectively, of the year.

Bethel's Dan Ubl and Mitch Severson each scored a power play goal in the second period and the Royals' Mitch Severson added an even-strength score to make it 3-1 going into the second intermission.

With the goalie pulled, Bethel a player short due to a hooking penalty, and just 1:15 left on the game clock, the Foresters finally tallied their second goal of the game. The score was the second of the season for Evans. O'Connor and fellow sophomore forward Adrian Wong (Richmond, British Columbia) earned the assists.

Lake Forest would get no closer, however, and the game ended with the visitors ahead 3-2.

The Foresters will put their 5-5-1 record on the line tomorrow night (7:30) when they host Hamline University. Hamline is another member of the MIAC.
