LAKE FOREST, IL - The Lake Forest College men's hockey team completed the first semester with an undefeated record Tuesday (December 9) by knocking off the Milwaukee School of Engineering 11-2 at home. The Foresters, ranked #5 in the nation in Monday's U.S. College Hockey Online Poll, are now 11-0-1 this season while M.S.O.E. fell to 3-8-0.

Lake Forest scored the first goal of the game at the 5:09 mark of the first period with only four skaters on the ice. The short-handed score was the first of the season for junior Dave Williams (Thornhill, Ontario/Thornhill Rattlers), who would get his second later in the period. Sophomore Tyler Steen (Calgary, Alberta/Calgary Royals) made the score 2-0 at the 14:02 mark and senior Bryan O'Connor (Calgary, Alberta/Calgary Canucks) scored his team-high eighth goal of year at 18:41 to put the home ahead by three. M.S.O.E. pulled to within two at 19:04 but Williams answered with his second of the game just 31 seconds later.

After scoring four first period goals, the Foresters rattled off six in the second. Freshman Tyler Canal (Thunder Bay, Ontario/Stratford Cullitons) scored just 50 seconds into the period, his fifth of the season. Junior Ryan Panet (Markham, Ontario/Wexford Raiders) found the back of the net at 7:13 and senior Chris Rook (Barrie, Ontario/Milton Merchants) scored his second of the season 53 seconds later. Steen struck for the second time in the game and the sixth of the year at 11:57 and Cam Doull (Marwayne, Alberta/Lloydminster Blazers) scored for the seventh time in his freshman campaign at 13:09. Freshman Bryan Lafevor (Ft. Wayne, IN/Chicago Freeze) closed out the period's scoring for Lake Forest with his first career goal at 14:02. The Raiders got their second goal of the game at 15:51.

Panet netted the only goal of the third period, his seventh of the season, at 4:33.

In addition to scoring a goal, Rook added a career-high three assists on the night. Canal, Doull, freshman Jordan Kniaziew (Leamington, Ontario/Leamington Flyers) and junior Ryan Scapinello (Guelph, Ontario/Stratford Cullitons) each had a pair of helpers in the game. Fourteen different Foresters had at least one point in the contest.

Junior Cody Brown (Calgary, Alberta/Calgary Canucks) needed only a dozen saves to record the victory. He is now 5-0-1 this season with a .914 save percentage.

Lake Forest will be back in action on Friday, January 9 when the Foresters take on St. Norbert College at home at 7:00 p.m. The Green Knights are currently the #2 team in the nation and will host Lake Forest the following night at the same time in another Northern Collegiate Hockey Association contest.
