LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College men’s hockey player Brandon Kohuch (Windsor, Ont./Chatham Maroons) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (February 1) for his performance in Lake Forest’s 2-2 tie against UW-River Falls, the nation’s third-ranked team, Saturday (January 27) night.
Kohuch, a sophomore goaltender, tallied a career-high 52 saves in the contest. That total matched the seventh-highest mark in team history and is the most by a Forester in more than four seasons. He stopped all 16 shots on goal he faced in the opening period, each of 13 in the second, 15 of 17 in the third, and all eight the Falcons put on target in the five-minute overtime.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
