Brandon Kohuch Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Senior earns the award for the second time in his career

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College men’s hockey player Brandon Kohuch (Windsor, Ontario/Chatham Maroons) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (February 12) for his performance in the team’s 0-0 tie at home against UW-River Falls the previous Saturday (February 7).

Kohuch, a senior goaltender, stopped all 53 shots on goal attempted by the Falcons in the game. He turned away 15 in the opening period, 16 in the second, 17 in the third, and five in as many minutes of sudden-death overtime.

It was the first known scoreless tie in team history and the second shutout of Kohuch’s career. His set a school record for saves in a shutout and moved into second place in program history with 1,955 saves in his career.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Kohuch also earned the award once as a sophomore.
