Foresters Fall in Season Opener at St. Norbert College

DE PERE, Wis. - The Lake Forest College men's hockey team was defeated 8-1 by host St. Norbert College Tuesday night (October 27) in the season opener for both teams.

The Green Knights started the scoring with a power play goal at the 5:42 mark of the opening period and doubles their lead at 12:41. Lake Forest pulled back to within a goal at the 14:12 mark when freshman Thomas Bark () got control of the puck behind the St. Norbert net and fed classmate Trent Brown () in front of the goal. Brown lit the lamp for his first career goal.

The home team regained the two-goal advantage just 18 seconds into the second period and added a score at 10:09. The score remained 4-1 in favor of St. Norbert going into the third.

Three Green Knights goals in the first seven minutes of the final period put the game out of reach and another with a minute remaining in the contest closed out the scoring.

Lake Forest will open Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association play next weekend (November 6-7) at Finlandia University. The teams will play Friday night at 7:14 (EST) and Saturday afternoon at 4:00.
