Tyler Canal Named All-NCHA, Seven Foresters on All-Academic Team
Senior was an honorable mention selection for third straight year

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The All-Northern Collegiate Hockey Association and NCHA All-Academic Teams were released Friday (February 16) and Lake Forest College was represented on both lists.

Senior forward Tyler Canal (Thunder Bay, Ont./Stratford Cullitons) was an Honorable Mention All-NCHA selection for the third year in a row. He finished the season with a team-high 28 points on nine goals and 19 assists. Canal ranked tied-for-13th in the conference with 12 points, five goals, and seven assists during the 14-game league schedule. He finished his career with 129 points, the eighth-highest total in team history. He also ranks seventh with 76 career assists.

Fellow seniors Matt Forsyth (Calgary, Alb./Calgary Royals), Greg Ihnken (Peoria, Ill./Chicago Freeze) and Brian Lee (Calgary, Alb./Calgary Royals) were three of seven Foresters on the league’s All-Academic Team. They were joined by juniors Bobby Chappuis (Ann Arbor, Mich./Culver Military Academy), Blake O’Keefe (Almonte, Ont./Gloucester Rangers), and Kevin Russette (Amherstburg, Ont./Leamington Flyers), as well as sophomore Peter Morrison (Roseville, Minn./Roseville High School).

A player must have a cumulative 3.00 grade point average, have earned at least 50 semester or 75 quarter hours, and be recommended by his head coach to be named to the NCHA All-Academic Team.
