Lake Forest Tripped Up at River Falls in NCHA Quarterfinals
Foresters upset bid falls one-goal short on Friday

RIVER FALLS, WI - Lake Forest College was ousted from the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association playoffs by UW-River Falls in the quarterfinals over the weekend. The Falcons won the series 2-0-0 with a 4-3 win on Friday (February 16th) night and a 3-1 win on Saturday (February 18th).

Lake Forest (11-14-2) was the seventh seed in the tournament.

UW-River Falls (19-6-1), the number two seed, advanced to the semifinals.

On Friday, the Foresters jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the second period, but UW-River Falls would tie the score at 2-2 and later score the game-winner with just under seven minutes to be played in the contest.

On Saturday, UW-River Falls broke a 1-1 tie with two goals in the game's final three-and-a-half minutes to claim the series sweep.
