LAKE FOREST, IL - The UW-Eau Claire men's hockey team traveled to Lake Forest Saturday (February 2nd) and defeated the Foresters by a score of 2-1. The loss drops Lake Forest's overall record to 9-12-1 and their Northern Collegiate Hockey Association mark to 4-8-0.

For the second straight night, freshman forward Ryan Scapinello (Guelph, Ontario) put Lake Forest on the scoreboard first. Fellow freshman forwards Robin Charest (Cabano, Quebec) and Derek Myronuk (Smithville, Ontario) earned assists on the goal, which occurred at the 7:49 mark of the first period. The assist was the first point of Charest's collegiate career.

The Foresters' downfall proved to be the 12th minute of the game. UW-Eau Claire scored to tie the score at the 11:06 mark and, just 51 seconds later, the Blugolds found the back of the net again for what turned out to be the game winning goal.

Forester freshman goaltender Joel Cameron (Markham, Ontario) turned away 20 shots in the game. He and Scott Sutton, the Eau Claire goalie, combined to stop all 35 shots on goal in the second and third periods.

Lake Forest will be on the road next weekend. Friday (February 8th) night's game will be at UW-Stout and Saturday's (February 9th) opponent will be UW-River Falls. The following weekend (February 15-16th), the Foresters will be the away team in the first round of the NCHA Playoffs. Their opponent has yet to be determined.
