Kneeland Named First Team All-NCHA, Canal an Honorable Mention
Freshman holds league lead in points this season

Mike Kneeland leads the NCHA in points and assists.
LAKE FOREST, IL – The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association released the 2005-06 All-NCHA teams on Thursday (February 23) and a pair of Lake Forest College players made the list.

Forward Mike Kneeland (Calgary, AB/Calgary Royals) became the first player in team history to be named First Team All-NCHA as a freshman. Kneeland has scored a team-high 15 goals so far this season and currently leads the league with 25 assists and 40 points in all games. That point total is the highest for a Forester in 16 years. Kneeland also tied for first in the conference with 19 points and led the league with 14 assists during the 14-game NCHA schedule.

Tyler Canal (Thunder Bay, ON/Stratford Cullitons) was an Honorable Mention All-NCHA selection for the second year in a row. The junior forward ranks second on the team and tied-for-fifth in the league with 31 points on 14 goals and 17 assists. He finished the conference schedule with 13 points on seven goals and six assists. Last weekend Canal became the 23rd player in team history to record 100 career points and just the fifth to do so before his senior season.

Lake Forest finished the regular season tied-for-fourth in the standings with 14 points and a 7-7-0 league record. The Foresters hosted and defeated UW-Stevens Point in their NCHA Peters Cup quarterfinal series last weekend and will take a 15-12-0 overall record into their semifinal match-up at UW-Superior on Saturday (February 25).
