After a scoreless first period, the home team finally got on the board with a 5x3 power play goal at the 5:32 mark of the second. Lake Forest tied the score less than a minute later on a shorthanded goal by freshman Peter Morrison (Roseville, MN/Roseville High School). The unassisted score was his ninth tally of the season.
The Yellowjackets’ game winning goal was also shorthanded and came at the 7:46 mark of the third period.
Freshman goaltender Scott Campbell (Bloomfield, ON/Elmira Sugar Kings) was between the pipes for the visitors and stopped 38 of 40 shots on goal, raising his save percentage on the year to .924.
Freshman Mike Kneeland (Calgary, AB/Calgary Royals) led the 2005-06 Foresters with 15 goals, 25 assists, and 40 points. He posted the program’s highest point total since the 1989-90 season.
