Ryan Panet Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Junior had 2 goals and 2 assists in NCHA playoff series

Ryan Panet's 4 points helped the Forester men's hockey team to a first-ever playoff win.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College men's hockey player Ryan Panet (Markham, ON/Wexford Raiders) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (February 26) for his efforts in his team's victory in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association playoff series over the weekend (February 20-21). With a win and a tie against UW-Stout, the Foresters advanced to the league's semifinals for the first time since they joined the NCHA in 1992.

Panet factored in on the Foresters' first and last goal of each game against the Blue Devils. He was credited with an assist as his squad grabbed a 1-0 lead at 14:43 of the first period Friday, and his first goal of the series came with 3:53 remaining in the 4-1 triumph.

In Saturday's 3-3 deadlock, Stout jumped out to an early lead before Panet's 12th goal of the season tied it at the 14:23 mark of the first period. The junior forward recorded his fourth point of the series with an assist as the Foresters took a 3-1 lead two minutes into the third period. It turned out to be a key goal as the Blue Devils scored twice in the final period to force overtime.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is chosen by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
