Canal and Brown Named Honorable Mention All-NCHA
Brown earns honor for second time in three years

LAKE FOREST, IL - The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association released its list of all-conference players for the 2004-05 season Monday (February 28) and a pair of Lake Forest College players earned honorable mention honors.

Sophomore forward Tyler Canal (Thunder Bay, ON/Stratford Cullitons) led the Foresters with 16 goals, 23 assists, and 39 points this season. He recorded at least one point in 25 of the team’s 28 games of the year, including each of the final 13. Canal ranked fourth in the NCHA with 20 points on seven goals and 13 assists in 14 league games. It is the first honorable mention all-conference honor of his career.

Senior goaltender Cody Brown (Calgary, AB/Calgary Canucks) earned honorable mention for the second time in the last three seasons. Brown led Lake Forest with an overall record of 8-6-1, 463 saves, a 2.90 goals against average, and a .911 save percentage on the season. He posted a 5-3-0 mark in eight NCHA starts and ranked fourth in the conference in save percentage and sixth in goals against average during league play.

Lake Forest placed fifth in the NCHA standings with a league record of 7-7-0. After winning a league quarterfinal series for the second year in a row, the Foresters fell 2-1 at St. Norbert College, the top-ranked team in the nation, in the semifinals and finished the season 13-14-1.
