Brandon Kohuch Records 53 Saves in Lake Forest's Tie with River Falls
Sets school record for saves in a shutout performance

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Forester men's hockey team skated to a scoreless tie with visiting UW-River Falls Saturday night (February 7). Lake Forest is now 5-17-2 overall this season and 0-12-1 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play. The Falcons are 10-12-2 overall and 4-8-1 in the league.

Forester senior goaltender Brandon Kohuch (Windsor, Ontario/Chatham Maroons) tallied 53 saves in the contest, a team record for saves in a shutout performance, surpassing the 50 that classmate Scott Campbell (Bloomfield, Ontario/Elmira Sugar Kings) recorded in a 2-0 triumph at College of St. Scholastica last season. He stopped all 15 shots he faced in the opening period, 16 in the second, 17 in the third, and five in overtime. Kohuch raised his save percentage on the season to .921, moved into second in team history in career saves, and is now just 50 away from joining Campbell as the program's only goalies to stop 2,000 shots on goal in their careers.

Lake Forest will close out the regular season at home against St. Norbert College next Saturday (February 14). The Senior Day game will begin at 7:30 p.m. and the annual Peter Taylor Award ceremony will occur between the first and second periods. The Forester hockey alumni game will preceed the contest at 4:00 p.m.
