Tyler Canal Named NCHA Player of the Week
Sophomore had five points in weekend sweep

Tyler Canal leads the Foresters with 14 goals and 31 points.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College men’s hockey player Tyler Canal (Thunder Bay, ON/Stratford Cullitons) was named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Week Tuesday (February 8) for his contributions to the Foresters’ victories over UW-Stout and UW-River Falls over the weekend (February 4-5).

Canal assisted on a pair of goals in Friday’s 6-3 win over Stout, including the eventual game winner.

In Saturday’s 3-2 triumph over River Falls, he tied the game at one at the 4:54 mark of the second period and, after the Falcons regained the lead at 5:28, he knotted the score again just 83 seconds later. He also assisted on the game winning goal 39 seconds into the third period.

Canal has recorded 12 points on six goals and as many assists in the Foresters’ last six games. He leads the squad with 14 goals and 31 points this season and is tied for the team lead with 17 assists. He has recorded at least one point in all but three of the team’s 23 games.
