Men's Hockey Stuns #4 UW-River Falls on Friday
Foresters win their sixth straight game 

RIVER FALLS, WI - Visiting Lake Forest College upset the nation's fourth-ranked team, UW-River Falls, by a final score of 4-1 on Friday night (January 19th). 

Lake Forest (11-4-2, 3-3-0 NCHA) won for the sixth straight game, while River Falls (13-4-1, 5-2-0 NCHA) lost for just the second time in league play.

Forester goaltender Mason Black (Smith Falls, Ontario) turned away 37 of River Falls's 38 shots on net (97.4% save percentage) to claim his seventh victory of the season.

Lake Forest jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two periods and then played River Falls even in the final period to secure the victory.

Senior Dan Holmes (Whitby, Ontario) and sophomore Bill Boyes (Bright's Grove, Ontario) scored goals in the first period, while David Evans (Calgary, Alberta) lit the lamp in the second frame. Boyes's goal came on the power play.

The Falcons pulled within two goals at the 6:49 mark of the third period, but would not get any closer. Frankie Demasi (Toronto, Ontario) slid in an empty net goal for the final margin.

Lake Forest will travel to UW-Stout tomorrow (January 20th).
