MATT BRUNI NAMED NCHA PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Lake Forest forward Matt Bruni, who had a big weekend and helped his team to two NCHA wins, has been named the league's Player of the Week.

The two wins helped the Foresters jump into fifth place in the NCHA standings. The Foresters are just one point out of the fourth spot. LF, now 4-4 in NCHA play and 12-6 overall, beat UW-River Falls (the current fourth place team), 6-4 on Friday, and UW-Stout, 9-1 on Saturday.

Bruni, a 5-10, 190 pound freshman from Unionville, Ont., had two assists in his team's win over UW-RF, and had two goals and one assist in the win over UW-Stout. He had the first assist on the game-winning goal against UW-RF and had a power-play goal against UW-Stout.

Also nominated were St. Scholastica goalie Kaleb Christenson, Eau Claire forward Erik Strand, Stout forward Brad Weappa, St. Norbert forward Jayce Politoski, Superior forward Kevin Paschal and Stevens Point goalie Bob Gould.
