Tyler Canal leads the Foresters with 10 goals this season.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College men’s hockey player Tyler Canal (Thunder Bay, ON/Stratford Cullitons) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (January 27) for his contributions to a pair of Forester victories at home last weekend (January 21-22).

Canal set the tone for the weekend by scoring just 24 seconds into Friday night’s 4-2 victory over UW-Eau Claire. He gave the home team a two-goal lead at the 10:47 mark of the second period with his team-high 10th score of the season.

On Saturday, Canal assisted on the eventual game-winning goal in the Foresters 3-2 triumph over UW-Stevens Point

The victories moved Lake Forest from seventh place in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association standings to fifth, just one point behind Stevens Point. In addition to leading the Foresters in goals, he is tied for the team lead with 22 points and ranks second with a dozen assists.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is chosen by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
