MENOMONIE, Wis. - The Forester men's hockey team played a home-and-home series with Concordia University Wisconsin over the weekend (January 3-4). The teams skated to a 2-2 tie at Lake Forest on Saturday and the Foresters routed the Falcons 8-2 at Concordia on Sunday, raising their overall record to 4-10-1. Concordia fell to 3-10-1.

Lake Forest senior Mike Kneeland (Calgary, Alberta/Calgary Royals) started the scoring Saturday night at the 9:52 mark of the opening period. He was assisted by classmates Chris Wilson (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Cornwall Colts) and Peter Morrison (Roseville, Minn./Roseville High School).

The Foresters doubled their lead at 7:05 in the second period on junior Adam Love's (Durham, Ontario/Elmira Sugar Kings) team-high sixth goal of the season. Sophomore Zach Kozak (Mesa, Ariz./Northland College) and senior Matt Oke (St. Lambert, Quebec/Nepean Raiders) were each credited with an assist.

Forester senior Scott Campbell (Bloomfield, Ontario/Elmira Sugar Kings) held the Falcons scoreless until the 5:49 mark of the third period. The visitors also scored on the power play at 11:56. Campbell stopped 24 of 26 shots on goal in the contest, keeping his save percentage on the year at .929, which ranks among the top 10 in the nation.

Kneeland struck first again just 32 seconds in to Sunday's contest. The first of six Forester goals in the opening period was assisted by junior Nick Ghidina (Pekin, Ill./Wichita Falls Wildcats). Wilson then lit the lamp at 7:58 with Kneeland and Morrison assisting. Junior Justin Taylor (Sun Valley, Idaho/Walpole Stars) scored his second goal of the year just 70 seconds later off passes from seniors Matt Schoepflin (Arvada, Colo./Culver Military Academy) and Chris Jackson (Acworth, Ga./Springfield Spirit). Kneeland and Wilson assisted on Morrison's fourth of the season at 15:04. Kneeland, assisted by Taylor, then converted a power play opportunity just 35 seconds later to tie Love for the team lead with six goals. Kozak finally finished the first-period scoring barrage with his fifth goal of the year at 16:52.

Concordia got on the scoreboard at 13:40 in the second stanza with the period's only goal.

Wilson completed his second career hat trick with a goal at 3:49 in the third and a power play score at 5:43. Kneeland assisted on both goals, giving him six points on two goals and four assists in a game for the second time in his career. Oke also assisted on the first of the two scores and Taylor the second. Wilson and Taylor established new career-highs with four and three points in the game, respectively. The Falcons closed out the scoring a 13:14 in the period.

Senior goaltender Brandon Kohuch (Windsor, Ontario/Chatham Maroons) recorded 30 saves in the game, raising his save percentage on the year to .921.
