Lake Forest Swept by Nation’s #4 Team
St. Norbert wins 3-0 and 4-1

LAKE FOREST, IL - The Forester men’s hockey team was swept by St. Norbert College, the nation’s fourth-ranked team, over the weekend (January 7-8). The Green Knights won 3-0 at home Friday night and 4-1 in Lake Forest on Saturday. The Foresters fell to 5-9-1 overall and 1-3-0 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association games. St. Norbert is now 11-2-2 overall and 6-0-1 in league play.

The Green Knights scored an even-strength goal in the first period of Friday’s game, a power play goal in the second, and another five-on-five score in the third. Forester senior Joel Cameron (Markham, ON/Milton Merchants) tallied 39 saves (92.9%) in the contest.

St. Norbert took the early lead again on Saturday with a four-on-four goal at the 3:40 mark of the opening period. The Green Knights scored again at 17:24 with both teams at full strength.

The visitors scored two more goals in the second stanza, the first at 4:13 with each team down a man and the second on the power play at 15:35.

Lake Forest finally got on the scoreboard at the 16:12 mark of the third period on sophomore Matt Forsyth’s (Calgary, AB/Calgary Royals) first goal of the season.

The Foresters will continue league play on the road next weekend (January 14-15). The team will face off at UW-River Falls at 7:00 Friday night and at UW-Stout at 3:00 Saturday afternoon.
