Thomas Bark Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Freshman scored goal that sent the team past MSOE

Thomas Bark
LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College men’s hockey player Thomas Bark (Toronto, Ontario/Streetsville Derbys) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (March 4) for his performance in the team’s Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association quarterfinal series victory at Milwaukee School of Engineering last weekend (February 27-28).

Bark, a freshman forward, assisted on the Foresters’ first goal and scored their third and fifth in a 7-6 overtime triumph in Saturday night’s two-game series opener. He then assisted on a pair of scores in Sunday’s 7-3 loss.

The highlight of the weekend and arguably the entire season for the Foresters came in Sunday’s 20-minute mini-game, which decided which team would advance to this weekend’s Harris Cup Four. The score was tied 1-1 after 20 minutes, forcing a 20-minute sudden-death overtime period. The teams played for more than 13 minutes before Bark took a pass from junior Jordan Cutler and flipped the puck past the Raider goalie for the game-winner.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
