Men's Hockey Team Tripped Up by UW-Stevens Point
Pointer's goal 21 seconds into overtime gives them the win

LAKE FOREST, IL - Ryan Maxson scored 21 seconds into overtime to give visiting UW-Stevens Point a 4-3 win over Lake Forest College on Saturday (November 11th).

Stevens Point (2-2-0, 2-2-0 NCHA) evened their overall and conference record with the win, while Lake Forest (3-2-0, 2-2-0 NCHA) is also at the .500 mark in league play.

Stevens Point's Zenon Kochan scored 2:55 into the contest to give the Pointers an early 1-0 lead. 

Bruce Mutch's (Summerside, P.E.I.) first goal of the season tied the score at the 7:41 mark of the opening period, and Bill Boyes (Bright's Grove, Ontario) gave the Foresters their only lead of the night just over one minute into the first period. 

Kochan tied the score at the 8:03 mark of the second period and Joel Marshall scored at 14:45 of the second period to give Stevens Point another one-goal lead. 

Frank DeMasi (Toronto, Ontario) tied the score for the third time when he scored at the 8:39 mark of the final period, setting up Maxson's overtime tally.

Mason Black (Smith Falls, Ontario) had 26 saves for Lake Forest, while UW-SP's Bob Gould had 37 saves.

Lake Forest out-shot the Pointers in each of the first three periods, including a 15-7 advantage in the third period. But the Foresters were 0-7 on the power play, while Stevens Point scored twice in six power play attempts.

Lake Forest will look to bounce back next Friday (November 17th) when they host Gustavus Adolphus College in a non-conference match-up.
