Lake Forest Suffers Pair of Defeats in Minnesota
Foresters back at home next weekend

MANKATO, Minn. - The Forester men's hockey team dropped a pair of games at Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) schools over the weekend (October 31-November 1). Lake Forest was defeated 7-1 by St. Olaf College Friday evening and 6-1 at Gustavus Adolphus College the following night to fall to 1-3-0 on the season. It was St. Olaf's season opener and Gustavus Adolphus raised its record to 1-1-0.

St. Olaf scored first on Friday just 3:01 into the contest. The Oles added power play goals at 1:34 and 7:49 in the second period and even-strength scores at 8:55 and 14:31.

Lake Forest got on the scoreboard at the 17:17 mark of the second period on the first goal of the season by senior forward Chris Wilson (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Cornwall Colts). He was assisted by fellow senior forward Peter Morrison (Roseville, Minn./Roseville High School).

The home team responded with its fifth goal of the period just 37 seconds later and added the game's final tally with 3:09 to play in the contest.

Forester senior goaltender Scott Campbell (Bloomfield, Ontario/Elmira Sugar Kings) recorded a career-high 56 saves in the game.

Gustavus Adolphus scored three times, including once on the power play, in the first period on Saturday. The Gusties added a fourth goal at 6:44 in the second and another power play score at 16:04 to take a 5-0 lead into the final stanza.

Lake Forest junior forward Adam Love (Durham, Ontario/Elmira Sugar Kings) scored his first goal of the year on the power play at the 7:25 mark of the third period. He was assisted by senior defenseman Matt Oke (St. Lambert, Quebec/Nepean Raiders).

St. Olaf scored the game's final goal just 45 seconds later.

The Foresters will take on two MIAC opponents again next weekend, this time at home. Lake Forest will host St. John's University at 7:30 Friday night and Concordia College-Moorhead at the same time on Saturday.
