Foresters Record Weekend Sweep on the Road
Team wins at St. Olaf and Gustavus Adolphus
  

Tyler Canal assisted on half the team's goals this weekend.
SAINT PETER, MN - The venue was different but the results the same as the Forester men's hockey team remained undefeated with a pair of victories over the weekend (November 21-22). Lake Forest won 3-2 at St. Olaf College Friday night and 3-0 at Gustavus Adolphus College Saturday night. At 6-0-1, the team is off to its best start since 1977-78. St. Olaf fell to 0-3-1 and Gustavus Adolphus to 2-4-0.

Sophomore Tyler Steen (Calgary, Alberta/Calgary Royals) put the visitors on the scoreboard first at the 2:58 mark of Friday's opening period with a power play goal. Juniors Robin Charest (Cabano, Quebec/Hebron Academy) and Ryan Scapinello (Guelph, Ontario/Stratford Cullitons) assisted on Steen's fourth goal of the season. St Olaf tied the score with just 52 seconds remaining in the period.

After a scoreless second frame, Lake Forest finally regained the lead on freshman Cam Doull's (Marwayne, Alberta/Lloydminster Blazers) goal at 8:44 in the third. Fellow freshman Tyler Canal (Thunder Bay, Ontario/Stratford Cullitons) and junior Ryan Panet (Markham, Ontario/Wexford Raiders) earned the assists. Doull struck for the second time in the game and fourth this year just 17 seconds later. Canal and freshman Matt Forsyth (Calgary, Alberta/Calgary Royals) were each credited with an assist. The Ollies pulled to within one with a power play score with 5:20 remaining but could not even the score.

The Foresters scored a goal in each period on Saturday. Sophomore Cory Wilson (Calgary, Alberta/Calgary Royals) started it off with his second of the year at the 8:51 mark of the first. Junior Dave Williams (Thornhill, Ontario/Thornhill Rattlers) and sophomore Troy Lother (Beach Park, IL/Green Bay Gamblers) assisted on junior Andrew Francone's team-high fifth of the season at 8:17 in the second. Finally, at 7:35 in the third period, Canal recorded his this assist of the weekend on Panet's second goal of the year.

Junior Joel Cameron (Markham, Ontario/Milton Merchants) tallied 33 saves on Friday and raised his record on the season to 4-0-0. Fellow junior Cody Brown (Calgary, Alberta/Calgary Canucks) earned the team's first shutout of the year on Saturday with a 31-save performance. Brown and Cameron have combined to save 93% of their opponents' shots on goal.

Lake Forest will play in the Marian College Hockey Showcase this weekend (November 28-29). The Foresters are scheduled to take on the hosts at 8:00 Friday night and Lawrence University at 4:00 Saturday afternoon.
