MENOMONIE, WI - The Forester men's hockey team was on the road this weekend (November 22-23), playing at UW-River Falls on Friday and at UW-Stout on Saturday in a pair of Northern Collegiate Hockey Association games. Lake Forest was defeated 3-2 at River Falls before knocking off Stout 5-1. The Foresters overall record is now 4-3-1 and their NCHA mark is 3-3-0.

In Friday's loss, the teams played a scoreless first period before Ryan Vieau scored an unassisted goal for the home team just 2:01 after the first intermission. Sophomore forward Dave Williams (Thornhill, Ontario/Thornhill Rattlers) tied the score at the 5:22 mark with his first career goal. Sophomore defenseman Eric Luka (Berwyn, IL/Fenwick) recorded the assist.

Nate Kotewa scored for River Falls at the 11:54 mark to regain the Falcon's one-goal advantage. With just four seconds remaining in the period, Williams tied the score again off passes from senior forwards Matt Bruni (Unionville, Ontario/Aurora Tigers) and David Evans (Calgary, Alberta/Calgary Royals).

After being out-shot 26-16 in the first two periods, the Falcons stepped it up and attempted 11 third-period shots to the Foresters' five. Josh Schlipp slipped one of the 11 past Lake Forest sophomore goaltender Cody Brown (Calgary, Alberta/Calgary Canucks) for the game-winning score. Brown finished the night with 24 saves.

On Saturday, the team's other sophomore goaltender, Joel Cameron (Markham, Ontario/Milton Merchants), recorded 28 saves in 29 opportunities in the 5-1 victory, giving him his first win of the season.

Evans scored the team's first, third, and fifth goals of the game and assisted on the second. It was the second hat trick of his career but first since his freshman season. Bruni recorded a career-high four assists, giving both players their second career-four-point game.

Freshman forward Cory Wilson (Calgary, Alberta/Calgary Royals) scored the team's second goal of the game and assisted on the third. Sophomore forward Robin Charest (Cabano, Quebec/Coaticooh) registered the Foresters' other goal.

Lake Forest will play Marian College next weekend (November 29-30). Friday night's game will be at Marian and Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse will play host to Saturday night's contest. Both games will begin at 7:30 p.m.
