November 24, 2003 Contact: Mike Wajerski, SID Foresters Climb to #10 in the Country
The Foresters are 6-0-1 so far this season with five of those six victories coming against schools from the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Lake Forest also defeated Northern Collegiate Hockey Association foe UW-Superior 3-2 in a non-conference game. Superior, who was #6 in the preseason poll, fell to #12 this week. Fellow NCHA teams St. Norbert College and UW-River Falls are ranked #2 and #5, respectively. Lake Forest began the year with four wins and a tie in five home games before taking to the road for the first time last weekend. The Foresters won 3-2 at St. Olaf College on Friday and recorded a 3-0 shutout at Gustavus Adoplphus College on Saturday. The Foresters finished the 2002-03 season with a 13-9-5 overall record and a 6-7-1 mark in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association. This year's team has 17 players back from last year (five seniors, nine juniors, three sophomores) and ten newcomers. The weekend (November 28-29) Lake Forest will take on Marian College
