The Foresters got off to a good start on Friday with a goal by senior forward David Evans (Calgary, Alberta/Calgary Royals) just 42 seconds into the contest. Fellow senior forward Matt Bruni (Unionville, Ontario/Aurora Tigers) and junior defenseman Rob Bilcox (Calgary, Alberta/Bow Valley Eagles) assisted on the team-leading eighth score of the season for Evans.

Marian responded with four unanswered goals an held the visitors without a score until the 14:04 mark of the third period, when sophomore forward Andrew Francone (Unionville, Ontario/Milton Merchants) cut the lead to 4-2 with his fifth goal of the year. Sophomore forward Derek Myronuk (Smithville, Ontario/Burlington Cougars) assisted on Francone's score and, less than 90 seconds later, he assisted on fellow sophomore forward Dave Williams's (Thornhill, Ontario/Thornhill Rattlers) third of the season.

Neither team could score during the game's final 4:30 as Marian held on for the 4-3 win, its first-ever victory over the Foresters.

Lake Forest jumped out to an early lead again Saturday night. Junior forward Robin Charest (Cabano, Quebec/Coaticooh Jr. A) scored his second goal of the season at the 2:40 mark and Bruni assisted Evans on the team's second shorthanded goal of the year at 13:36. Marian closed the gap to 2-1 with a power play goal at 14:33 to close out the first period scoring.

Francone helped Lake Forest add to its lead at 1:51 in the second with his sixth of the year.
