Foresters Knock Off Nation's Second Ranked Team
Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over St. Norbert gives Lake Forest series split

LAKE FOREST, IL - Matt Bruni (Unionville, Ontario) scored with 13 seconds remaining in overtime to give Lake Forest College a 3-2 win over visiting St. Norbert College, ranked second in the country (U.S. College Hockey Online), on Saturday (November 4th). St. Norbert defeated the Foresters, 8-4, the previous night in DePere, WI.

Lake Forest (2-1-0, 1-1-0 NCHA) evened their conference record with the win, while St. Norbert (2-1-0, 2-1-0 NCHA) lost for the first time this season.

SNC's Chris Bodnar scored the first goal of the game on Friday at 8:08 of the first period. Lake Forest goals by Bill Boyes (Bright's Grove, Ontario) and Adrian Wong (Richmond, British Columbia) gave Lake Forest a one-goal lead midway through the second period. Bodnar's second goal of the game tied the score midway through the second period. 

Bruni's fourth goal of the season, assisted by Frank DeMasi (Toronto, Ontario) and David Evans (Calgary, Alberta), gave Lake Forest the win in their first overtime contest of the season.

Mason Black (Smith Falls, Ontario) had 32 saves in the winning effort.

The previous night, Lake Forest jumped out to leads of 2-0 and 3-2 until the Green Knights scored five unanswered goals, including two on the power play and two more on LF's power play. 

The Foresters got goals from Bruni, Wong, Evans, and Scott McClure (Calgary, Alberta).

Lake Forest will return to the ice next Friday (November 10th) when they host UW-Eau Claire.
