Foresters Open Season with 3-2 Victory at M.S.O.E.
Charest scores a pair of power play goals

Robin Charest scored twice for the sixth time in his career.
MILWAUKEE, WI - The Forester men’s hockey team began the 2004-05 season with a 3-2 triumph at the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Friday (October 29). The Raiders fell for the second time in as many games this year.

Lake Forest got on the scoreboard at the 4:44 mark of the opening period on a goal by senior Robin Charest (Cabano, QC/Hebron Academy). Sophomores Matt Forsyth (Calgary, AB/Calgary Royals) and Tyler Canal (Thunder Bay, ON/Stratford Cullitons) were each credited with an assist on the power play goal, the period’s only score.

The home team tied the game with a power play goal of its own just 1:45 into the second stanza. With 4:57 remaining in the period, Charest scored again with a man advantage to regain the lead for Lake Forest.

The Raiders scored the game’s fourth power play goal just 75 seconds into the third and the game remained tied until, with 6:10 left in regulation, Canal found the back of the net with the game winner.

Senior goaltenders Cody Brown (Calgary, AB/Calgary Canucks) and Joel Cameron (Markham, ON/Milton Merchants) split time between the pipes, with Brown getting the start and saving 16 of 17 shots on goal. Cameron recorded four saves and earned the victory.

M.S.O.E. was cited for 10 infractions during the game while the visitors drew 17 penalties. Lake Forest put 22 shots on goal in the contest, one more than the Raiders.

The Foresters will be in Minnesota next weekend (November 5-6). The team will play at St. Mary’s University Friday night at 7:00 and at the University of St. Thomas at the same time on Saturday.
