Lake Forest Opens the 2000 Season in Impressive Fashion with 9-3 Win
Six different players score a goal in season-opener

LAKE FOREST, IL - On the strength on five power play goals (in ten opportunites), Lake Forest College defeated visiting Milwaukee School of Engineering, 9-3, on Tuesday in the Forester's season opener. 

Lake Forest (1-0-0) scored the game's first four goals, including two by freshmen, and cruised to the six-goal win.

MSOE (0-3-0) remained winless on the season.

Freshman Adrian Wong (Richmond, British Columbia) opened the scoring just 1:16 into the game. Matt Bruni (Unionville, Ontario) and Mark Grumetza (Edson, Alberta), also a freshman, added first period goals. 

MSOE pulled within 4-1 at 6:58 of the second period and 6-2 at 16:06 in the second period, but the Foresters would answer with a pair of goals of their own after each Red Raider score.

Bruni (two goals, two assists), Grumetza (two goals, two assists), and David Evans (Calgary, Alberta) (one goal, three assists) each scored four goals for Lake Forest, while Dan Holmes (Whitby, Ontario) joined Bruni and Grumetza with two goals. 

Justin Howard (Burlington, Ontario) notched 18 saves to record the victory. 

Lake Forest will open their Northern Collegiate Hockey Association season on Friday (November 3rd) in DePere, WI when the face St. Norbert College.
