After graduation she obtained U.S.P.T.A. certification and worked as a tennis teaching pro for well over a decade. Judy, a psychology major, eventually earned a Masters degree in Counseling from Northern Illinois University and became a licensed clinical professional counselor.

She continued to compete in tennis, winning age bracket doubles championships in the Chicago District Tennis Association and the Paddock Publications tournaments.
