Joseph J. Koss '41
Growing up in LaSalle, Illinois, Joseph attended LaSalle High School where he began his legacy of civic service and athletic excellence.  He was president of his senior class and was a member of the Lettermen's Club and the tennis, football, and basketball teams.

He entered Lake Forest in 1937 and continued to be active, receiving four letters in tennis and football and one in basketball. President of the Athletic Board of Control, Student Council, and Phi Pi Epsilon, he was also an honor student and a member of Iron Key.  Joseph was honored for his involvement and academic excellence by being elected to Who's Who in American Colleges. 

After graduating with a business administration degree, Joseph attended the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration, then served as Senior Lieutenant in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1946.  He worked at the Prudential Insurance Company Corporate Office before retiring in Southern California.
