Lake Forest Spring Athletes Earn 11 Academic All-Conference Honors
Seven from softball and four from men’s tennis

  

LAKE FOREST, IL - The 2006 Spring Academic All-Midwest Conference Team was released Thursday (June 8) and 11 Lake Forest College student-athletes from two spring teams made the list. Sophomore standing and a 3.2 minimum cumulative grade point average are required for consideration.

Half of the 14-member Forester softball team made the list. Both of the squad’s seniors – Ashley Closson (Murphysboro, Ill./Murphysboro) and Melissa Wegner (Chicago, Ill./Lane Tech) – were honored and were joined by juniors Lisa Jeziorny (Orland Park, Ill./Carl Sandburg), Kim Silvers (Walton, Ind./Lewis Cass), and Erin Watts (Evergreen Park, Ill./Evergreen Park), as well as sophomores Christy Condon (Brookfield, Wis./Brookfield East) and Rachael Pasdo (Hoffman Estates, Ill./William Fremd).

Four men’s players were also awarded. Seniors Sebastian Bienia (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) and Rob Burda (Meridian, Idaho/Meridian) fulfilled the requirements, as did junior Ben Larsen (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) and sophomore Tim Tierney (Woodstock, Ill./Woodstock).
