Inducted 1997 Growing up in Belvidere, Illinois, Larry attended Belvidere High School and participated in baseball, basketball, football and track. He was a member of National Honor Society, National Athletic Honor Society and was a National Merit Scholar. He entered Lake Forest in 1957 and earned four letters in football. He was All-Conference for two years and was a member of the CCI Champion football team of 1957. President of his freshman class and the Intramural Board of Control, he was also a member of Phi Delta Theta, the Lettermen's Club, Student Congress and the Athletic Board of Control. He was a member of the honorary organization Beta Beta Beta and wrote for the Stentor. His involvement led to his election to the Iron Key Society. Graduating with a biology degree, Larry went to the University of Illinois and received his M.D in 1965. He became a pediatrician at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and eventually held the position of Director of General Pediatrics at Loyola University Hospital. He stayed involved with his alma mater by serving as regional council representative, the Alumni Coordinator to admissions, and serving on the Committee on Athletics of the Board of Trustees.
