22 Foresters Earn Academic All-Conference Honors
Women’s swimming & diving leads the way with 11

  

LAKE FOREST, IL - The 2006 Winter Academic All-Midwest Conference Team was released Wednesday (March 15) and 22 Lake Forest College student-athletes from winter sports teams made the list. Sophomore standing and a 3.2 minimum cumulative grade point average are required for consideration.

The Forester swimming & diving teams had the most selections with 18 student-athletes. Eleven women made the list, including seniors Kelly Albanese (Waltham, Mass./Waltham) and Erin Colwell (Northfield, Minn./Northfield). Juniors Chelsea Bueter (Swisher, Iowa/Prairie), Anne Haas (South Berwick, Maine/St. Thomas Aquinas), Alexandra Hales (New Iberia, La./Episcopal School), and Erin Price (Denver, Colo./Littleton) were joined by sophomores Jemere Bohnert (Flushing, Mich./Powers Catholic), Stephanie Kierzek (Vernon Hills, Ill./Vernon Hills), Kylie McGonigal (Omaha, Neb./Marian), Maggie Rezac (Omaha, Neb./Marian), and Kendall Swett (Akron, Ohio/Hawken) on the list. On the men’s side, Aaron Koop (Newton, Kan./Newton) was the only senior and shared the honor with juniors Jon D’Angelo (Ann Arbor, Mich./Ann Arbor), Derek Drayer (Albuquerque, NM/Eldorado), Justin Lansing (Englewood, Colo./Regis Jesuit), and Tracey Swanson (Berthoud, Colo./Berthoud) as well as sophomores Stephen Crabbe (Tucson, Ariz./University) and Michael Ojdana (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier).

Four women’s basketball players were also awarded, and each is in her sophomore year. Nicole Baich (Westchester, Ill./Nazareth Academy), Sarah Holsen (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc), Shaina Sullivan (Winfield, Ill./West Chicago), and Eileen Walsh (Hickory Hills, Ill./Amos Alonzo Stagg) met the requirements the first year they were eligible.
