JURECKO NAMED MVP, POWERS SELECTED MIP FOR MEN'S BASKETBALL

J.R. Jurecko, a junior center from Libertyville, IL (Libertyville High School), and Evan Powers, a freshman forward from Bondurant, IA (Bondurant Farrar High School), have been named team Most Valuable Player and Most Improved Player, respectively, at Lake Forest College. 

The awards were presented at Sunday's (April 30th) Winter/Spring Lake Forest College Athletic Banquet. 

Jurecko started all 22 games for the Foresters and led the team in scoring (13.9 points per game) and rebounding (8.9 rebounds per game). He connected on 50% (126/252) of his field goal attempts and also added a team-high 19 blocks. Jurecko was a First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-Midwest Region selection this season.

Powers appeared in all 22 games and averaged 5.7 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. He shot a team-high 54.8% (46/84) from the field. 

Lake Forest finished the 1999-2000 season with a 17-6 overall record and won the Midwest Conference Championship with a perfect 16-0 mark.
