Eric McDonald Named MWC Performer of the Week

LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College men's basketball player Eric McDonald (Elk Grove, IL/Elk Grove) was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week Tuesday (December 16) for his contributions to the Foresters' 86-82 overtime victory over North Park University last Tuesday (December 9).

McDonald scored 11 points and dished out five assists in the opening period against the Vikings before exploding for 25 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the floor after halftime. He led all players in the game with 36 points and seven assists and added five rebounds and a blocked shot. The junior shot 12-for-16 from the field in the contest.

The team captain currently ranks second on the squad in scoring (15.0 ppg), rebounds (4.4 rpg), and assists (2.1 apg.). He also has a .556 field goal percentage and a pair of blocked shots in seven games.

It marked the second time in McDonald's career that he earned the conference's weekly award. He was also honored last February.
