Bell leads way with 15 points and 8 rebounds

Fred Bell had 15 points and 8 rebounds against Palm Beach Atlantic College on Tuesday.
PALM BEACH, FL - The Lake Forest College men's basketball team continued it's fast start with a 73-63 over Palm Beach Atlantic College, NAIA's 19th-ranked team, on Wednesday (December 27th). The Foresters are now 6-0, their best start to a season since 1976-77 when they won their first seven games.

Sophomore guard Fred Bell (Mequon, WI/Homestead) was the team's leading scorer with 15 points. He also added 8 rebounds and 2 steals. In just six games this season, the Foresters have had 6 different leading scorers.

Also scoring in double-figures for Lake Forest were sophomore guard Lee Taylor (Sheldon, IA/Sheldon) with 13, junior guard Bryan Bertola (Green Bay, WI/Bay Port) and sophomore forward/center Eric Tolar (Maywood, IL/Proviso East) with 12 each, and junior guard Brian Bruha (Hillsboro, WI/Hillsboro) with 10. Bruha also dished out a team-high 6 assists and added 5 steals.

One key to the team's fast start has been their edge on the boards. The Foresters have out-rebounded each of their opponents this season, including Palm Beach Atlantic by a 40-36 margin. Sophomore forward Evan Powers (Bondurant, IA/Bondurant-Farrar) led the Foresters Wednesday with 9 and is one of five players with more than 5.0 per game this year.

The team will put their perfect record on the line next Tuesday (January 2nd) at 3:30 PM EST against Lynn University, an NCAA Division-II school located in Boca Raton, FL. The Foresters will then return home to continue defense of their Midwest Conference Title, with their final 15 regular season games scheduled against MWC opponents.
