Victor Campbell Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Senior helped lead team to overtime victory

Victor Campbell
LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College men’s basketball player Victor Campbell (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (December 3) for his performance in an 87-85 double-overtime victory over visiting St. Mary’s University the previous Sunday (November 29).

Campbell, a senior guard, led the home team with 20 points in the contest. He shot 5-for-9 from the field, including a 4-for-5 performance from three-point range. Campbell tied the score three times late in the second half. He connected on back-to-back three-pointers with more than four minutes remaining, converted a traditional three-point play with 1:41 to play, and knocked down a pair of free throws with just nine seconds on the clock.

It was the seventh time in Campbell’s career that he scored at least 20 points in a game. He now ranks second on this year’s team with 11.0 points per contest and leads the squad with eight three-pointer on just 14 attempts (57.1%).

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Campbell also earned the award once during his sophomore season.
