Junior J.R. Jurecko (Libertyville, IL/Libertyville H.S.) added 19 points and a team-high 12 rebounds, while Fred Bell (Mequon, WI/Homestead H.S.) chipped in 17 points. Both Taylor and Bell came off the bench. Freshman Eric Tolar (Maywood, IL/Proviso East H.S.) and sophomore Brian Bruha (Hillsboro, WI/Hillsboro H.S.) had 11 and 10 points, respectively. Bruha also had team-highs for assists (4) and steals (3). On Saturday versus IC, the Foresters again benefited from a balanced scoring attack. Five players scored at least 9 points, led by Bell's 16 points. Bell converted 9 of 11 free throws. Other double digit scorers included Bruha (14), Jurecko (12), and Tolar (10). The Foresters jumped out to a 37-23 halftime lead by shooting 60.9% from the field in the first half, while IC shot just 28.6% in the first frame. |
