Laird Walker Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Senior recorded back-to-back double-doubles

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College men’s basketball player Laird Walker (Chicago, Ill./Whitney M. Young Magnet) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (February 14) for his performance in three games during the previous seven days.

Walker began the week by scoring a team-high 16 points and adding seven rebounds in the team’s 67-65 loss at Beloit College on Friday (February 8).

The next day the senior forward recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds in a 84-69 loss at Lawrence University. He also blocked a pair of shots in the contest.

Finally, in an 80-73 victory at Illinois College on Wednesday (February 13), Walker reached double figures again with 21 points and 11 rebounds. He also recorded two steals, a blocked shot, and a career-high five assists. It was his fourth double-double of the season and 10th in the last two years.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Walker also earned the award once last season.
