Franklyn Beckford Named Second Team All-Midwest Conference
Senior recognized by the league for the third straight season

LAKE FOREST, IL - The All-Midwest Conference men’s basketball teams were announced on Monday (February 27) and Lake Forest’s Franklyn Beckford (Jacksonville, IL/Jacksonville) was a Second Team selection.

Beckford led Lake Forest with 14.4 points and 7.7 rebounds per game this season and averaged 15 points and 7.9 rebounds in 16 league games. He reached double figures in scoring in all but five of the team’s 23 games and pulled down at least 10 rebounds five times. His .674 field goal percentage on the year ranked fifth in the nation and broke the single-season school record he set last year.

The senior forward will graduate as the program’s all-time leader with a .633 career field goal percentage. He also ranks ninth in school history with 1,309 points and eighth with 632 rebounds.

Beckford was also a Second Team selection as a sophomore and earned Honorable mention honors last season.
