Eric McDonald Named MWC Player of the Week

LAKE FOREST, IL - Forester men's basketball player Eric McDonald (Elk Grove, IL/Elk Grove) was named Midwest Conference Player of the Week Tuesday (February 4) for his contributions to Lake Forest's weekend (January 31-February 1) split on the road against fellow MWC schools.

In a 71-69 loss at St. Norbert College on Friday, the sophomore forward scored 21 points and pulled down a game-high nine rebounds. He shot 8-of-11 from the field, including 1-of-2 from three-point range, and 4-of-6 from the free throw line. McDonald also added a blocked shot and a steal.

In Saturday's 88-85 victory at Beloit College, McDonald led all players with 35 points and six rebounds. He connected on 14 of 18 field goal attempts and shot 7-of-9 from the free throw line. He also added a pair of steals.

He averaged 28.0 points and 7.5 rebounds on the weekend while shooting 75.9% from the floor and 73.3% from the free throw line. McDonald leads the 2002-03 Foresters with 17.7 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. He is shooting 60.7% from the field and 72.5% from the line on the year.
