GALESBURG, IL - The Lake Forest College men's basketball team moved to 7-1 on the season and 2-0 in the Midwest Conference with a dramatic 75-74 victory at Knox College on Saturday (January 6th). The win also extends the Foresters' regular season MWC win streak to 18 games.

Senior center J.R. Jurecko (Libertyville, IL/Libertyville) played the hero's role as he scored his team-high 15th and 16th points of the contest on two free throws with just four seconds left to provide the game's final points. Jurecko, a 60% free throw shooter on the season, also made two free throws with 32 seconds left to give the Foresters a 73-72 lead before a jumper by Knox's Victor Garcia put the home team ahead by one with 18 seconds to go.

The game was close throughout, with Lake Forest only leading by as many as seven and trailing by as many as five. There were 15 ties and 22 lead changes during the course of the game, including 5 and 12, respectively, in the last ten minutes.

As they have done to every other opponent this season, Lake Forest out-rebounded Knox 36-35. They were led by junior guard Brian Bruha's (Hillsboro, WI/Hillsboro) 9 boards. Bruha turned in another all-around game, adding 12 points, 4 assists and a pair of steals. Sophomore guard Lee Taylor (Sheldon, IA/Sheldon) chipped in 13 points, 4 assists and 4 steals. Sophomore forward/center Eric Tolar (Maywood, IL/Proviso East) also scored in double figures with 11 and added 4 rebounds.

The Foresters will begin a busy week on Tuesday (January 9th) when they travel to Illinois College. Lake Forest will host Beloit College on Friday (January 12th) and then close out the week at Ripon College on Saturday (January 13th). All three foes belong to the Midwest Conference.
