Franklyn Beckford Named All-Midwest Region
Sophomore earns Third Team honors  
  

Franklyn Beckford shot 62.9% from the field this year.
LAKE FOREST, IL - D3hoops.com announced its All-Midwest Region men’s basketball teams Wednesday (March 17) and Lake Forest College’s Franklyn Beckford (Jacksonville, IL/Jacksonville) was a Third Team selection.

Beckford was the Foresters’ leader with averages of 17.0 points and 8.7 rebounds per game this season. His .629 field goal percentage was the seventh-best mark in the nation and just shy of the school record (.632). He also shot 75% from the free throw line.

The sophomore has now posted two of the top five single-season field goal percentages in the program’s history and is easily the current school record-holder with a .614 percentage in his career.

Lake Forest finished the 2003-04 season with a 13-11 overall record and a 10-6 mark in Midwest Conference play. The Foresters advanced to the four-team MWC Tournament for the third time in the last five years and Beckford was a Second Team All-MWC selection.
