Laird Walker Named Second Team All-MWC, Hoyt Rees Honorable Mention
Forwards ranked among league leaders in various categories

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Midwest Conference released the 2007-08 All-MWC basketball teams on Tuesday (March 4) and a pair of Lake Forest College players made the list. Laird Walker (Chicago, Ill./Whitney M. Young Magnet) was named to the Second Team and Hoyt Rees (Yorkville, Ill./Yorkville) was an Honorable Mention selection.

Walker led the Foresters with a .527 field goal percentage and 14.0 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 1.3 blocked shots per game this season. He was also fourth on the squad in steals and fifth in assists. The senior forward finished second in the conference in rebounding and blocked shots during league play and ranked 12th in scoring and 10th in field goal percentage. Walker scored 716 points and pulled down 476 rebounds in his four seasons and ranks second in team history with 68 career blocked shots.

Rees’ 56 assists and 37 steals led the Foresters and he ranked second on the squad with 13.7 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. During league play the sophomore forward ranked 13th in the conference in scoring, fourth in rebounds and steals, and 13th in assists. Rees has scored 574 points and pulled down 311 rebounds so far in just two seasons with the team.

Lake Forest finished the season 11-12 overall and 7-9 in conference play.
