Marjorie Ingram Bonnie '36
Growing up in Lake Forest, Marjorie attended Deerfield-Shields High School, where she was captain of the field hockey team and learned to play golf, her life-long sport.

Entering Lake Forest in 1932, Marjorie was active in a variety of organizations and is considered to be a pioneer of women's athletics.  She was an officer of the Women's Athletic Association and competed on numerous teams including field hockey, basketball, track and volleyball.  An economics major, Marjorie was also a member of the Economics Club, Gamma Rho Delta sorority, Forester staff, and the Homecoming and Prom Committees.

Following graduation Marjorie married Allyn Bonnie '34.  It was after her college days that she began a successful golf career.  Club champion at Short Hills Country Club in Denver, Colorado, she became a member of the rating committee for the local United States Golf Association chapter in Denver.  After she won the Senior Women's Amateur Championship in Colorado, the local chapter of the Professional Golfers Association honored Marjorie as the 1978 Senior Women's Amateur Golfer of the Year.  An alumni ambassador to the College, she and her family hosted various recruiting and alumni functions in Colorado.
