LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Lake Forest College Athletic Director Jackie Slaats announced Friday (May 29) that she had accepted the resignation of head men's soccer coach Derek Niepomnik after two seasons at the College. Niepomnik recently accepted the position of Director of Coaching for Eclipse Select Soccer Club North in Libertyville, Illinois. "I appreciate what Derek has done for our men's soccer team and am excited about the direction he has the program headed," commented Slaats. "While I'm sad to see him go, I want to congratulate him on his position at Eclipse Select and wish him well in his new career path." "I want to express my gratitude to Lake Forest College for giving me the chance to get back into college coaching a couple of years ago," Niepomnik began. "I was looking forward to the upcoming season before being presented with an opportunity I just couldn't pass up." Eclipse Select North boasts the top-rated girls club program in the country. Niepomnik will oversee the competitive side of the club.
